Artist Bio

Paul Bentsen is a humorous flamboyant photographer, writer, and filmmaker raised on Long Island who managed to make his great escape to the Bronx. His work celebrates the creativity of artists in the LGBTQ+ community and his style reflects the complexity of the vibrancy and darkness that surround queer culture. His inspiration pulls directly from the eccentric personalities immersed in NYC nightlife. Through his imagery, he explores themes of self-determination, organized chaos, absurdism and admiration. He has collaborated with many queer artists that have been featured on major networks including HBO, VH1 and Logo TV. His artist journey began with an Intro to Photography class at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. While interning for MILK Studios in video production, his desire to tell queer stories in different mediums eventually led to film and screenwriting. He is currently writing his first TV pilot and continuing to create work that centers around the queer experience.
